Post Op - Week 2

This has been a good week for me.  I truly feel "back to normal" when it comes to soreness and fatigue.  My scars are healing well and the swelling and minimal bruising that I did have is just about gone.

I have lost some of my muscle tone in my midsection due to inactivity and the fact that I had a "major surgery" in that area only 2 weeks ago today. Overall, I'm WAY more excited about getting back to my normal routine in a few weeks than I thought I would be.

I had no idea "how much" this surgery would effect my body.  I wasn't sure how much pain I'd be in.  What kind of swelling would happen to me?  I knew we are all different.

Externally, I've healed super quickly.  On the flip side, internally isn't healing as fast as my doc would like.
I had my Week 1 Post-Op appointment and like I said before, externally everything is great.  No pain meds, no real soreness, no true fatigue anymore. She mentioned because I was in shape prior to surgery, my muscles have bounced back quickly.

So what's the problem?
I'm still bleeding from my sutures internally.  I'm still needing to wear pantyliners throughout the day and definitely overnight. Sigh.  I've been complaining i can't wear my leggings and things due to needing to wear "regular" underwear. hahaha!  Like that should really be what I'm complaining about.  I think that's pretty awesome if that's the most of my worries. Anyway...

While she wasn't CONCERNED as this is a NORMAL side effect of surgery...most women are done with that part after a few days.
Me, not so much.

So what was her suggestion?
Lay low for another week.  Don't increase my walking just yet.
The first 2 weeks after surgery are crucial for healing.  So yes...I'm behaving.  I DON'T want to backslide.  I feel TOO GOOD right now to have any complications.  But, I will say that it's harder this week than it was last week.  I feel good.  Sitting still and laying low is harder than when I was tired last week.

So what have I done?
I've done all sorts of things like: buy an instant pot, try out new recipes with it, visit with friends that stopped by, crush my monthly business goals, and make some amazing plans for my team in the upcoming months.

The Instant Pot? AMAZING!

I can't believe it took me so long to purchase one.

My only complaint?
I only bought the 3 qt. pot because it was cheaper and I was skeptic.  Yeah...I NEED the 6 qt.  I want both and I plan to use it...like daily! It's that awesome!

Stay tuned for more blog posts with recipes I make with it.
